Portugal welcomes the Head of Government of São Tomé and Príncipe at an International Business Forum in the city of Porto.

Portugal welcomes the Head of Government of São Tomé and Príncipe at an International Business Forum. The Invicta city is chosen as the stage for the business event.
The Almeida Garrett Municipal Library and Porto were, on October 9th, the stage for the Portugal - São Tomé and Príncipe Business Forum. Through the hands of the Porto City Council - CMP, in collaboration with the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe, and with the support of the Portuguese Business Association, the historical ties between the countries were fondly remembered, with particular emphasis on commercial and economic cooperation.
Rui Moreira, president of the CMP, welcomed the São Toméan Patrice Trovoada, in his role as prime minister of the Lusophone archipelago, at an event he highlights as “crucial for the development of relations between our countries (...) an opportunity to get to know each other and understand business opportunities”. Other pressing figures from the ministries of economy, environment, and infrastructure were also present, which were the main topics on the table. Dozens of entrepreneurs and business entities sat down to listen to the discussion of these relevant topics of the Portuguese economy.
Patrice Trovoada spared no praise for the Invicta city, opening his speech with the firmness that “only Porto could host this business forum, a city full of life and culture that represents the internationalization of Portugal, the dynamism of entrepreneurs and the resilience of the people of the North”. He took the opportunity to appeal to the public partner's sensitivity to continue investing and creating opportunities outside Portugal and to inform the entrepreneurs present about the potential of “Horizon 2035” for “all parties”, not only in the context of “investment market, but also in strengthening human capital”.
Luís Miguel Ribeiro, representing the Portuguese Business Association, where he holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors, also subscribed to this message from the pulpit, highlighting the “extremely important need to strengthen the internationalization of the Portuguese economy, both through exports and through investment” combined with the inclusion of countries like São Tomé and Príncipe in the strategic window of Portuguese companies. He sees, in this strengthening of relations, which also occurred during the networking moment with the companies present, a possibility to “enhance the cultural, emotional and economic ties” of the nations.
The nBanks was one of the entities present that privileged introduced its innovative product to the Head of the São Toméan Government, accompanied by the Minister of Economy of the respective country. It recalled its role as consultant and agent in Open Banking in other regions of the African continent and its expansion across the globe and, in dialogue, the potential of technology at the service of society and the economy was once again recognized.
